Phentermine Side Effects

phentermine side effects
Phentermine is a shorter name for “phenyl-tertiary-butylamine”, which is a great medicine for appetite suppressing in the class of amphetamines and phenethylamine. But compare to amphetamines, phentermine is much better tolerated. Nevertheless, some phentermine side effects do exist. One of the main side effects from using phentermine is for sure the dependence, which can either physical or psychological, or sometimes both.

Most of the major side effects are connected with abuse of phentermine and when phentermine is combined with other medications. For example, if phentermine is combined with antidepressants, such as inhibitors, it can result in higher arterial pressure. If taking medications for brain or heart, combined with phentermine, such phentermine side effects as defects of heart valve may appear. It is not recommended to take phentermine for those, who suffer glaucoma, ischemic heart disease and so on.

It is forbidden to drink alcohol, while taking phentermine, as this can give undesirable side effects.

The possible side effects, when taking phentermine include:

• insomnia

• faster heartbeat

• dry mouth with unpleasant taste

• problems with stomach, diarrhea, vomiting, pain

• headaches

• higher blood pressure

• changes in bladder

• changes in libido

• psychological problems, like irritation and nervousness, constant changes in mood

• dependence on the medicine.

Effects that are less common but also happen when using phentermine include:

• fever

• dizzy feeling

• low blood pressure, which results in fainting

• mania, panic, paranoid and depressed feelings

• uncontrollable shaking or trembling of whole body or body parts

• changes between weaknesses and over activeness

• hallucinating.

But despite these phentermine side effects, it does have lots of advantages. Despite all the possible negative effects, phentermine is being used for 50 years already. And the main reason for it is because it really works and really gives results. Phentermine is the first hunger suppressant that was approved by FDA and since then it has been the most widely sold medicine to fight extra weight not only in the USA, but in the whole world! It not only helps reduce weight, but you will also be able to keep the results for a long time even when you stop using phentermine, which is especially important, as phentermine is recommended only for short-term use because of the phentermine side effects. And although phentermine is a very powerful appetite suppressant that not only lowers appetite, but also increases metabolism and activity, it’s still recommended to keep control of the possible side effects. Only small doze prescribed by your doctor should be used. Avoid over-dozing phentermine and remember that average doze should be around 30mg per day. The term for which you take phentermine should not be longer than 3 months, as taking pills for a longer time can make you addicted, as well as taking bigger dozes than prescribed. When you complete the course, it’s better if you gradually lower the dozes, before completely stopping to use it.
